Wells Village Library
The most beautiful little library in the world is temporarily closed to in-person patronage.
Please let us know if you’d like to place an order for curbside pick-up or delivery. We’re happy to ensure you have all the reading material you need until we can reopen our doors and welcome you back inside.
We hope to be able to do this again soon!
We offer library service to one patron at a time. Come inside. Browse a little while. If no one else is waiting, browse some more.
We are happy to offer curbside pick-up. Just call ahead and we’ll have your books ready for you.
We gladly deliver to anyone in Wells and the surrounding area.

Gianetta “Gina” Ellis joined us in April, 2020. A resident of Wells, Gina is an artist and illustrator retired from a fulfilling career that spanned environmental law, planning and education. A book lover through and through, some of her favorites include:
- The Art of Seeing Things, Essays by John Burroughs
- The Spell of the Sensuous, David Abram
- Owls and Other Fantasies, Mary Oliver
- The Wisdom of Florence Scovel Shinn
- Letters to a Young Poet, Rainer Maria Rilke
Our librarian has completed VOSHA training as required by the State of Vermont. She and all associated volunteers follow proper procedures in fulfilling your requests. As per guidelines, we ensure returned books are quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours. Covers are cleaned with disinfectant before books are shelved and circulated. When you pick-up or accept delivery, books are presented in new plastic bags.
For in-library service, we ask that you wear a mask and be mindful of other patrons who may be waiting their turn. Remember, our library is small so we can only permit one person in at a time. If you do not have a mask, we will provide one free of charge.
